Nov 15 – A Gardener’s Christmas (Pubnico)

Ouest Ville Perennials invites you to a “Gardener’s Christmas“. Enjoy an indoor Winter Wonderland in the Greenhouse. They have Pine and Fir boughs and accessories for your Winter planters and window boxes, gift ideas for the gardener on your Christmas list. Light refreshments and a gift for every shopper!

Nov 15 – Country Night (Lunenburg)

St John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg invites you to Country Night. A fun filled, all-ages evening of live music, food & beverage, and dancing! Come join in on the fun and bring a friend. Free will offering.

Nov 15 – Pub Night at the Port with One Meter Up (Port Medway)

The Port Grocer welcomes back One Meter Up for their Friday Pub Night. Stop in from 6-10pm for good food, good music and good fun.

Nov 15 – Kids Holiday Cooking and Movie Night (Bridgewater)

Join PC Cooking School & your In-Store Dietitian Hayley Ewing, Registered Dietitian for our first ever Holiday Cooking & Movie Night this Friday 6-830pm; ages 5-11. Kids will make festive snacks to enjoy while watching a fun Holiday Movie! Menu: TBD – we cannot guarantee an allergy-free environment. Movie: The Grinch 2018 Cartoon. Cost: $20 +tax. Space is Limited, Register at the Customer Service desk, Bridgewater Superstore at least 48 hours in advance, but we suspect spaces will fill very quickly so don’t wait. Nov 15 – Friday Fun Night at Lunenburg Curling Club

Come on down to the Lunenburg Curling Club for their 1st Fun Night of the 2019-20 Season, sponsored by Ironworks Distillery. Doors open at 6:30pm. First curling draw at 7pm and the second at 8:30pm. Lucy Slauenwhite‘s Canteen will be serving up pork parmesan, caesar salad and garlic toast. Everyone is welcome, both members and non-members. If you don’t want to curl? No problem, come for the food and stay for the socializing.

Nov 15 – Kirtan on the South Shore (Mahone Bay)

Kirtan, or yogic chanting, is a call-and-response form of chanting that is a type of yoga in itself. It has many of the mind-calming benefits of a yoga class or sitting meditation. No chanting experience necessary! Just an open, curious heart. The South Shore Kirtan is led by local yoga teacher, Tracy Murdoch, and accompanied by Jill Higgins, a local physiotherapist. The cost is $15 suggested donation. Registration is requested, either by saying you are coming in the Facebook event or by emailing Tracy

Nov 15 – New Hermitage & Cory Lavendar (Lunenburg)

Lahave River Books is pleased to host an evening of improvisational music and poetry with New Hermitage and guest poet Cory Lavendar. A collection of compositions, improvisations, and recorded sound, New Hermitage connects beauty of the environmental timbres that surround us. Halifax, NS. Doors open at 7:30, show starts at 8pm.

Nov 15 – The Jimmy Flynn Show (Lunenburg)

The Grand Banker is proud to present The Jimmy Flynn Show this Friday! The Jimmy Flynn Comedy Show has remained one of the most memorable performances available for 25 years. With a high-energy blend of sidesplitting comedy and popular music, Jimmy Flynn remains Canada’s ambassador of good cheer. Nov 16 – Dating Old Family Photos Workshop (Barrington)

Barrington Museum Complex and Cape Sable Historical Society are hosting a “Dating Old Family Photos Workshop” this weekend. Facilitated in later period dress by Socio-costumologist Jenny Milligan, participants will learn methods of dating photos from the mid 1800s to the 1920s based on clothing worn in photographs. Handouts, resource links & light refreshments will be provided. Join them Saturday from 1-4:30pm at the Multi-Purpose Room of the Municipality of Barrington offices. Pre-registration is required, fee is $25 per participant. Registration may be completed by contacting the Cape Sable Historical Society office at 902-637-2185 or via email

Nov 16 – Riverport Christmas Market (Riverport)

Join in at the Riverport Community Centre for their Christmas Market. Shop great local crafters, artisans, and vendors. This is a wonderful opportunity to find unique gift ideas. They will have a canteen and raffle prizes to be won.

Nov 16 – Shelburne’s Historic District Christmas Crawl (Shelburne)

Small businesses in Shelburne’s historic district open their doors for a fun day of Christmas shopping 9-5pm. Delicious treats available at each stop. Stamped passports will give you a chance to win a full basket of gift items donated by each store. Pick up your red passport next time you’re in to one of the participating stores.

Nov 16 – Opening Spiel at Barrington Curling Club (Barrington)

The Barrington Curling Club 2019 Opening Spiel is happening this Saturday. Saturday. Games start at 10 am. Two games of curling, soup and sandwich lunch and maybe even some prizes. Nov 16 – UCW Christmas Bazaar and Dessert Luncheon (Bridgewater)

Bridgewater United Church invites you to the UCW Christmas Bazaar and “Sandwich and Christmas Dessert “Luncheon. Doors open at 10:30am. Luncheon will be served from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Bazaar tables will include Crafts; Knitting, Pickles, Jams and Jellies; Trinkets and Treasures; Baking and Candy; Plants and Dried Flowers. Nov 16 – Bring Your Soldiers Letters for Sharing (Bridgewater)

The DesBrisay Museum invites you to Bring and Read Letters from your own family members who served. Staff and volunteers will read letters home from World War I and II, as well as letters from the museum collection. There will also be a display of artifacts, as well as the museum’s exhibition “Letters from War”. You can also write a letter to a soldier serving overseas. Admission free, donations appreciated

Nov 16 – Murder at the Resort Dinner Theatre (Milton)

A special yearly event, Christmas in Petite is a multi-venue Christmas Event in Petite Riviere! Shop your way around Petite Riviere! Check out the Facebook event for a list of vendors and location. Make a donation (min. $20) at the Wesley Church and get your ‘I’ve been Everywhere’ card stamped at each venue for the chance to win great prizes! Nov 16 – Pirates of the Mersey Gala Dinner (Liverpool)

The Queens Association for Supported Living are hosting their annual fundraising Gala, and invite you to a swashbuckling good time at “Pirates on the Mersey“. Nov 16 – Musings “Salt & Wild” Fundraiser (Shelburne)

The Shelburne County Arts Council is once again presenting Musings, an evening of songs, stories, theatre, dance and the visual arts, all by local artists this Saturday at Trinity United Church at 7:30pm. An evening of skits, songs, music and reading with desserts and drinks. Donations requested at the door, all funds to the Arts Council.

Nov 16 – TSA Music for the Future 11th Annual Benefit Concert (Mahone Bay)

Tusarnaarniq Sivumut Association – Music for the Future is holding it’s 11th Annual Benefit Concert and Silent Auction this Saturday at the Mahone Bay Centre. This year’s concert features Dave Gunning with special guests. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for youth and are available at Kinburn Pharmasave, Mahone Bay ; Shop on the Corner & CaicoMae, Lunenburg; Cobbler Corner, Bridgewater.

Nov 17 – Yoga at the Kitch’inn (Mahone Bay)

Head to the Kitch’inn Sundays at 10:30am for Flow with Jo w/ Joanne Green
This is an all levels Vinyasa (movement with breath) Flow Class. All are welcome to join, this class will guide you through a series of postures that help build strength, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, and mental focus. Modifications are given to allow everyone to work at his/her own ability and comfort level. Stay after class for a “bendy brew” and nibbles compliments of the Kitch’inn. Nov 17 – Lyme 101 Conference (Bridgewater)

The Lunenburg Lyme Association is hold a Lyme Disease Conference this weekend at the Bridgewater Cineplex. Sunday’s program is for the public and is an opportunity to hear from experts with diverse perspectives on prevention, symptoms and treatment. The event is free, please register via Eventbrite.

Nov 17 – Annual Christmas Craft & Bake Sale (Pubnico)

Nov 17 – Adam Shoalts “Beyond the Trees” Book Launch (Lunenburg)

Nov 17 – “Rocketman” at the Chester Playhouse (Chester)

Chester Playhouse Theatre is showing “Rocketman” this Sunday at 7pm.”Rocketman” is an epic musical fantasy about the incredible story of Elton John’s breakthrough years. The film follows the fantastical journey of transformation from shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight into international superstar Elton John. Tickets are $10 available here.
