Well, the South Shore is in full Christmas market mode, with plenty of events happening to help you no matter where you are in your planning. Not yet ready to think about the holidays, well there are events for you too. Let’s take a look at what’s happening on the South Shore this weekend.
What’s Happening on Friday November 13th, 2020
Nov 13 – Lightkeepers Youth Group Shoebox Packing Party (Barrington)
Guiding Light Baptist Church and Guiding Light Christian Academy is hosting a Shoebox Packing Party, this Friday between 6:30pm-7:45pm. Children aged 4-grade 6 are welcome to spend the evening packing shoeboxes for children overseas, learning about those children why we pack them! A great way to share some joy this holiday season.
Nov 13 – South Shore Lumberjacks vs. Summerside Western Capitals (Bridgewater)
Cheer on the South Shore Lumberjacks this Friday. Puck drops at 7pm with Lumberjacks taking on the Summerside Western Capitals. Tickets are available online. Please full list of Fan Protocols before getting to the rink.
Nov 13 – LaHave River Beer Release : Team Fortitude (Bridgewater)
King Street Beer Company and Team Fortitude invite you to King Street Beer Co. this Friday at 8pm for their next LaHave River Beer Release, the “Brewjitsu” Witbier, made with Team Fortitude.
Nov 13 – Jackbox Games at Mulligan’s Sports Bar (Bridgewater)
Looking to put your brain to work? Head to Mulligan’s Sports Bar to play Jackbox Games. A fun, interactive, trivia style game played from your table using your smart phone. Get your bubble together and exercise the little grey cells. Happens every Friday unless posted otherwise

Nov 14 – Opening Spiel at Barrington Curling Club (Barrington)
Barrington Curling Club is hosting their Opening Spiel this Saturday starting at 9am. $10 per curler includes 2 eight-end games and lunch. 4-person team format. Coffee at 9 am and first draw starts 9:30 am. Neighbour clubs welcome. COVID-19 precautions in place – masks and physical distancing required in the lounge.
Nov 14 – Safer Space, Safer Bodies Walk (Bridgewater)
South Shore Sexual Health is hosting a Safer Spaces, Safer Bodies Walk this Saturday from 2-4pm. Join them in the spirit of creating a welcoming place in our community for folks of all genders and orientations. There will be refreshments including hot chocolate, games, and more. Please pre-register wither via Facebook Messenger or via e-mail. This way they can estimate numbers and be prepared with Covid preparations. Please bring masks for times you are unable to social distance. We will be asking folks to register so we can do contact tracing.
Nov 14 – Picton Castle Ship & Boat Chandlery Yuletide Sale (Lunenburg)
Join the Picton Castle on Saturday from 10:00am – 5:00pm for the Picton Castle Ship & Boat Chandlery Yuletide Sale! Come and start your holiday shopping for items from all over the world including nautical decor, marine supplies, hats, baskets, bronze hardware, model dories, and more! Located at 174 Bluenose Drive on the Lunenburg Waterfront.
Nov 14 – Christmas Market at Sandy Point Lighthouse (Shelburne)
Profound Creativity is hosting a Christmas Market at the Sandypoint lighthouse this Saturday from 9am-4pm with many different vendors. There will be baked goods, crafts, jewelry , knitted items among many other things. Please come out and enjoy your day with friends and family and help support our local crafters. COVID protocols will be in place.
Nov 14 – Christmas Market at the New Germany Legion (New Germany)
New Germany Legion – Branch 102 is holding a Christmas Market this Saturday from 10am-3pm. With lots of Local artisans and vendors, come shop local and get ready for the Christmas Season. Canteen with Chili and a roll and warm apple cider. Covid Protocols will be in place.
Nov 14 – Downtown Shelburne Christmas Shopping Event (Shelburne)
Do some Christmas shopping at the downtown Downtown Shelburne Christmas Shopping Event this Saturday and discover loads of deals and prizes within various retailers. Additional vendors will be set up in the Enterprise Square. A great way to support local this Christmas.
Nov 14 – The Pre-Christmas Craft Market (West Dublin)
The Lahave Craft CO-OP and friends are hosting a Pre-Christmas Craft Market this Saturday in West Dublin. Join them from 9am-4pm and discover one of a kind items, baked goods and tea/coffee. Cash or Cheque only for vendors. Masks are required, and social distancing protocols will be in place.
Nov 14 – Vintage Christmas Crafts & Gifts Market (New Germany)
The Goose Nest is having a Vintage Christmas Crafts & Gifts sale this Saturday from 10am-5pm. Visit the shop and marvel at the selection of curated Vintage Christmas crafts and gift ideas.
Nov 14 – COVID…. What Happened to Our Reconciliation (Chester)
The Chester Art Centre presents COVID- What Happened to Our Reconciliation this Saturday 7-9pm. An evening of poetry, hieroglyph art and new improvised music by Mi’kmaq, African Nova Scotia and Settlers performing and creating together to show how beautiful these cultures and their people can connect through art and what they become when they are together. Tickets are by donation and must be reserved via Eventbrite.
Nov 14 – Columbia House live at FirkenStein Brewing (Bridgewater)
FirkinStein Brewing welcomes Columbia House to the stage this Saturday. “A full band, that can play anything! Always a blast!!” Music starts at 8pm.
