What’s happening on the South Shore Friday July 19, 2019
July 19 – Pleasant Street Kitchen Party
Presented by the Chester Theatre Playhouse, The Pleasant Street Kitchen Party offers an authentically Nova Scotian experience. Full of singing, dancing, and fun, it’s the perfect opportunity to grab your friends, bring your family, raise a glass and share a laugh or two! Tickets range from $15-$35, show is at 7:30pm.
July 19 – Full House Jazz at St. Mark’s Place
St. Mark’s Place present Full House Jazz for an evening of contemporary/smooth jazz. Full House is comprised of versatile and talented musicians with many collective decades of experience. The band displays a polished and tight sound, along with an attention to detail and musical sense of fun. Tickets: $20.00 at the door.
July 19 – The Town Heroes at The Shore Club
The legendary Shore Club invites you to tuck into their traditional lobster supper and then dance the night away with the Town Heroes. The band takes the stage at 9:30pm, tickets for just the dance are available online and are $20.

July 20 – South Shore Farms Open Haskap Day
Head on out to South Shore Farms and join in the fun of Open Haskap Day. The U-Pick will be open, tour the farm, and sample delicious haskap products; including home made haskap ice cream. Fun for the whole family, so bring the kids and make a day of it.
July 20 – Bridgewater Community Garden Open House
The Bridgewater Community Garden is celebrating 10 years with a fun-filled Open House. Tour the garden projects, join in activities and games for all ages. Bring your swim suit to enjoy the best slip-n-slid in town! Kick off is at 1:00 pm, rain date is July 21st.
July 20 – Paint Sea on Site
The Lunenburg Art Gallery presents Paint Sea on Site 2019. Stroll through historic Lunenburg and watch over 70 artists create fresh art throughout the town. The event is rain or shine with free admission for all.
July 20 – The Great Milton Days Garden Party
As part of the Great Milton Days celebration, the Milton Community Association is hosting a Garden Party. Join in on the fun between 6:30pm-9:30pm for games of chance, food and entertainment, fun for all ages.
Show up a little early and enjoy dinner at the Milton Days Pig Roast from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Advance tickets are $16 and available at Hatt’s XTR in Milton. Pig Roast tickets at door are by chance.
July 20 – Lobster Supper at Trinity United Church in Rose Bay
Trinity United Church in Rose Bay is hosting a Lobster Supper. Join them between 4:00pm – 6:30pm for 1.5lbs of lobster plus all the trimmings. Dine in with friends and family, or take out is available. Advance tickets are $35, will be $40 at the door.
July 20 – A Twilight and Tasting Hike at Keji
Kejimkujik National Park hosts Twilight and Tastings Hike; a Savour the Adventure experience. A guided hike through beautiful Keji at twilight, leading to a secluded beach to observe the starry skies. While enjoying a narrated tour of the night sky, enjoy a selection of locally crafted beers paired with tasty treats. Talk about a night out. Cost: $22.00 per person plus entry fee. Register in person at the Visitor Centre, by calling 902-682-2772 or by emailing kejimkujik.info@pc.gc.ca age to participate is 19 years old.
July 20- Bikers in the Park
Bikers in the Park is a fundraiser in support of DesBrisay Museum and Cancer Can’t Catch Me, which helps cover travel expenses for children with Cancer in the Maritimes.
It is open to the public and free to attend. There is a motorcycle Show n Shine in which everyone, including children will get to vote for their favourite bike, a Poker Run for the bikers with donated prizes, MJ’s Streetside Food Truck will be there as well a Cheerleading Squad selling ice cream cones and doing demos for their fund raising as well as a few retail vendors joining them.
Sunday July 21
July 21 – South Shore Songsmith Series
King Street Beer Co. presents the South Shore Songsmith Sessions. Join Hank Middleton, writer & performer, with guest performers playing original songs & tunes. A great way to showcase the incredible South Shore talent. Happens every other Sunday with a rotation of local talent.
July 21 – Boxwood Opening Concert
Boxwood Canada presents its week long festival with it’s Opening Concert. Celebrate a joyous evening of the best acoustic Celtic and traditional music from World-renowned artists. The concert is from 7:30pm-10:00pm. Tickets are $25 available on-line, in person after June 21 at Shop On The Corner in Lunenburg, and at the door for each event starting roughly 30 minutes before starting time.
July 21- Summer Bandstand Concert Series- Lunenburg
Sarah Pound will be serenading folks at the Heritage Bandstand Sunday, July 21st at 2:00pm.
July 21 – Magician Michael James “Smoke and Mirrors”
The Chester Playhouse presents Magician Michael James in “Smoke and Mirrors”; magic for a modern audience. Perfect for all magic fans, James does not disappoint. He is an excellent showman and all his acts are guaranteed to amaze! Show is at 7:30pm, tickets are $30 and available online
July 21- Community Fun Day, Indian Falls Park
The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg is hosting a family inclusive fun day at one of their beautiful parks, Indian Falls,. There will be many games and a BBQ, and its all FREE! This Sunday, July 21, from 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm, you won’t want to miss this!
July 21 – Lobster Supper Sociable
The kitch’inn and Mateus Bistro have joined forces to host weekly Lobster Supper Sociables. Join them at 5:30 for seafood dinners with the freshest locally-sourced ingredients, live Celtic Music, and more! 2 course $50pp or 5 course $75pp. Reservations are required please call 902-624-0797 or email office@kitchinn.com
