What’s Happening Friday July 10, 2020
July 10 – Art Happening Online Open Mic Night
Art Happening is still trying to keep us all socially connected while being socially distanced. July’s Open Mic will be held via the Zoom platform. We’d ask both performers and audience to register in advance through Eventbrite. Once registered we will then send you the zoom invite. You don’t need a zoom account to participate. Zoom also has toll-phone in option for folks who have really slow internet, so don’t let that stop you from joining in on the fun! This is a kid friendly event, something to keep in mind when making performance selections.
July 10 – Pat Wardell live at Bayport Pub (Riverport)
Friday July 10th, visit the Bayport Pub from 7-9pm for an evening of great music with Pat Wardell. Performing live for the first time since COVID-19, we are pleased to have him back. July 11 – All Levels Hatha Flow Class (New Germany)
Join Yoga with Lisa Saturdays for All Levels Hatha Flow Yoga classes. This is an outdoor class overlooking the LaHave River with plenty of space and shade.The class is designed for someone new to yoga or someone with yoga experience. July 11 – 50th Anniversary of Ross Farm VIRTUAL EVENT
A Ross Farm Reunion – 50 years of Ross Farm Museum history. Due to Covid-19 and the museum currently being closed this will be an online event only. For the virtual event, we will be sharing memories of the museum through pictures and stories that will be posted to the event wall and to our Facebook page, Instagram, and Twitter accounts. If you have a favourite memory or picture of the museum we would love it if you shared it here to the event page!
July 11 – Near & Away Gourmet Market (Mahone Bay)
The Tea Brewery in Mahone Bay have gathered up some of their favourite things and is launching their Near & Away Gourmet Market this Saturday from 10am-5pm. Find your Nova Scotian favourites like Cows Creamery, Honibe and Full Steam Coffee, just to name a few, along with the Brewery’s own amazing teas.
July 11 – Indoor Yard Sale at the Seaside Centre (Brooklyn)
The Seaside Centre is hosting an Indoor Yard Sale this Saturday. Head down from 9:30am-1:30pm and do a little treasure hunting. Canteen with jot dogs and pop will be available. **We will be asking Covid 19 questions to every person as this is an order by the government to stay open. Also we will be practising social distancing.
July 11 – Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic Re-Opening (Lunenburg)
The Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic re-opens it’s doors this Saturday. Join them for a Guided 90 Minute Tour and discover how our ocean connects to our maritime identity. July 11 – Shore Club Lobster Suppers (Hubbards Beach)
Shore Club Lobster Suppers open for the season on Saturday, 4:00 – 7:30. Reservations 902-857-9555. Lobster Suppers will be every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 – 7:30. We will be following all of the Covid 19 protocols, and ask that you wear a mask upon arrival (can be removed once you are seated). There is a hand sanitization station upon arrival. Due to the virus, we have had to change things up a bit, and we hope you like the changes. Right now, both the lobsters and the mussels are at their absolute prime, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

July 11 – South Shore Drive In (Mill Village)
After a fantastic opening night last week, the South Shore Drive In presents “Back to the Future” this Saturday at 10pm. Synopsis -Marty travels back in time using an eccentric scientist’s time machine. However, he must make his high-school-aged parents fall in love in order to return to the present.
Price $10 per vehicle. Parking opens at 9pm, Movie starts at 10pm. Concessions available on location.

July 11 – The Wicked Deadly Duo live at Tuna Blue Inn (Hubbards)

July 11 – The Nice Guys at St. Marks Place (Middle LaHave)
St. Marks Place is excited to be able to host live music again! Kicking off the summer are The Nice Guys, featuring Patrick Thompson and James Ramey. Bringing their originals, fun covers and bad jokes to local audiences, these guys ensure a fun evening. Email to reserve your seat. Keep in mind they are only allowed to sell 34 tickets for each performance.**St. Mark’s Place social distance seating arrangement is 34 people total. July 12 – Door Wide Open Community Art Exhibition at the Chester Art Centre (Chester)
The Chester Art Centre invites you to visit their Doors Wide Open Community Art Exhibit. Community members were asked to bring in their creative work, and we will be showing a full range of types, skill, ability – and it’s all gorgeous! We want to see what you’ve been up to in this time of isolation, quarantine, social distancing and home-time. The exhibit runs July 9 – 23. Hours for both weekends are Sat 10am-3pm and Sun 2pm-4pm. **We are working hard to ensure everyone at the centre is safe and healthy. We recommend you wear a safe (but lovely) mask, sanitize your hands, and keep the fashionable 6-foot distance.
July 12 – Beach Yoga Flow (Green Bay Beach – Petite Riviere)
Free to Be Yoga with Christy invites you to Beach Yoga Flow this Sunday at 9am at Green Bay Beach. A great way to start your morning. All participants must register/pay beforehand – please message to sign up, no drop-ins are allowed. $10 per class. All participants must adhere to social distancing regulations.I suggest bringing a towel for under your mat, a yoga mat, blocks, sunscreen, water bottle, and any props that may support your practice (no props will be provided). July 12 – Rossignol Cultural Centre & Sherman Hines Photography Museum (Liverpool)
Rossignol Cultural Centre and Sherman Hines Photography Museum is now open for the season and welcomes individuals and families FREE of charge from July 1- Sept 26, 2020. The Rossignol is a 24,000 sq. ft. newly renovated, multi-faceted cultural centre, featuring a variety of Museums, Art Galleries, Libraries and Wildlife. The Rossignol Cultural Centre opened on July 20, 2002, and is one of the top 10 tourist destinations on the Lighthouse Route
July 12 – All Levels Vinyasa Yoga (Bridgewater)
Yoga with Katherine presents an All Levels Vinyasa Yoga Class held in an outdoor setting. Moving with our breath, we will build heat in the body with sun salutations and explore classic hatha yoga postures building on throughout the summer. You must register and pay for class ahead of time to hold your spot. Classes are $10 each or you can purchase a 5 class pass for $45! Payments for classes must be sent through EMT.
