Jan 22 – Public Skates at LCLC (Bridgewater)

Looking to get in some exercise this weekend? Pack up your partner, your kids, heck even your parents and lace on a pair of skates at the LCLC in Bridgewater. What a great way to spend an afternoon or evening. Check out their website for COVID Protocols.

Jan 22 – Quiet Artist Studio Sessions (Chester)

The Chester Art Centre invites you to their Quiet Artist Studio Sessions taking pace Friday mornings from 9am-12 Noon. These sessions are ideal for those who work best in quiet settings, but still enjoy the company of other artists. Jan 22 – Ragged Island Roosters live at Boxing Rock (Shelburne)

Boxing Rock Brewery welcomes back the Ragged Islands Roosters to the Taproom this Friday from 6:00-7:30pm. A roots & blues, piano & drums duo — grain-fed, free-range and raised organically on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, this duo is ready to help you start the weekend off right.

Jan 22 – GameChangers live at FirkenStein (Bridgewater)

FirkenStein Brewing welcomes back GameChangers this Friday. They are bringing their Groove Blues tunes to the stage from 7-10pm. Stop in for a cold drink and some top tapping music.

Jan 23 – Adult Learn to Skate (Shelburne Arena)

Shelburne Municipal Recreation Department is hosting Adult Learn to Skate sessions Saturdays from 9-10am starting this week. These classes are free, and for anyone looking to learn or improve their skating. Pre-registration is required by contacting by phone 902-875-3544 ext 229 or email. Helmets are mandatory for all participants

Jan 23 – “Explorations” Exhibit at Chester Art Centre (Chester)

The Chester Art Centre is please to present Explorations – Forest Heights Grade 11 end of term Art Show. Come see their work between January 23-February 3, 5-7pm except January 24, 12-4pm. Please follow all current COVID guidelines.

Jan 23 – Beginner Fat Bike Ride (Mahone Bay)

Sweet Ride Cycling hosts Beginner Fat Bike Rides Saturday mornings. These weekly sessions will run from 9am to 10:30am departing from the public parking lot behind Kinburn Pharmasave in Mahone Bay, and focus on the joy of fat biking from the perspective of a beginner. Follow their Facebook Page for updates on weather cancellations. You can Book bike rentals with the shop before 5pm Friday(s) or join with your own.

Jan 23 – Introduction to Longsword (LaHave)

Medieval Swordplay Canada is hosting a Italian Medieval Longsword Training workshop this Saturday, 3-4:30 pm. This class is open to beginners, must be 18+. Jan 23 – Irish Stick Fighting (LaHave)

Medieval Swordplay Canada hosts Irish Stick Fighting workshop this weekend from 5-6:30pm. Must be 18yo+ Training sticks supplied. Comfortable clothes and non marking footwear. Jan 24 – Barrington Bay Trail Scavenger Hunt (Barrington)

Barrington Municipal Recreation Department invites you to take the Nature Trail Scavenger Hunt Challenge. Find the listed items, play BINGO style and win! The instructions with sheets and crayons to complete are located along the Barrington Bay Trail where the small park area is near Station Rd. Play anytime between now and February 5th at 4:30 for chances to win!

Jan 24 – Public Skating at Lunenburg Arena (Lunenburg)

Join in the fun of Public Skates at the Lunenburg Arena this weekend, including Sunday from 6:15pm-7:30pm. Check out their website for more information including COVID protocols in place. Why not grab an early dinner at the Grand Banker or Salt Shaker Deli beforehand?

Jan 24 – Burns Sunday Ceilidh at King Street Beer Co. (Bridgewater)

The Robbie Burns Day celebrations continue at King Street Beer Co. with Burns Sunday Ceilidh. Celebrate from 2-4pm with their mini Ceilidh band brought to you by South Shore Pipes and Drums and McKinnon Dance. Limited seating and social distancing required.
