What’s Happening on Friday January 15th, 2021
Jan 15 – Discover some Forest Friends along the Bull Run Trail (Hebbville)
Let’s get outdoors and spend time in nature…close to home! Discover “Forest Friends” and kindness stones along the Bull Run Trail in this “New Year…New Day” event that is a partnership between MLA Mark Furey, the Bull Run Trail Association and the Municipality of Lunenburg, Recreation.
Jan 15 – Winter Walk Series (Shelburne)
Shelburne Recreation & Parks Department is hosting a Winter Walk Series on the third Friday of every month. The first one will be this Friday along the Jordan River Trail. Join them for a 5km (return) walk starting at 10am. Meet at the Camp Jordan Driveway (6019 Hwy 3). Jan 15 – New Faces Friday Online Event
NOW Lunenburg County is hosting another New Faces Friday online meet-up starting at 4pm. As there are so many amazing people moving to Lunenburg County and with limited ways to meet, here’s a chance to meet online. Whether you’re new or not-so-new, we’d love to meet you and introduce you to other new people. Please join them for a casual Zoom meet up. We’ll introduce ourselves, ask and answer questions you might have, uncover favourite finds and hidden gems, and just check-in! Can’t wait to meet you!
Jan 15 – Public Skating at LCLC (Bridgewater)
Looking to get in some exercise this weekend? Pack up your partner, your kids, heck even your parents and lace on a pair of skates at the LCLC in Bridgewater. What a great way to spend an afternoon or evening. Check out their website for COVID Protocols. Why not make it a day and stop in for some dinner at the Grand Banker or Salt Shaker Deli.

We may not have much snow on the ground, yet, so why not take some time and start pre-planning to enter Town of Bridgewater‘s Snowman Building Contest? Will it be a traditional person, creature, how big how small, what accessories will they be sporting? Contest runs to March 31st.
Jan 16 – Vision/Creativity Board Collage Workshop (Chester)
The Chester Art Centre has announced that a Vision/Creativity Board Collage is the theme for this week’s Wide Open Studio – book your half hour by phone (902) 275-5789 or email to ensure your spot – 9:30am-11:30 am this Saturday. Jan 16 – Beginner Fat Bike Ride (Mahone Bay)
Sweet Ride Cycling hosts Beginner Fat Bike Rides Saturday mornings. These weekly sessions will run from 9am to 10:30am departing from the public parking lot behind Kinburn Pharmasave in Mahone Bay, and focus on the joy of fat biking from the perspective of a beginner. Jan 16 – Trivia at the Taproom at Boxing Rock (Shelburne)

Jan 17 – Public Skates at Lunenburg Arena
Join in the fun of Public Skates at the Lunenburg Arena this weekend, including Sunday from 6:15pm-7:30pm. Check out their website for more information including COVID protocols in place.
Jan 17 – Snowshoe/Hiking Adventure along the Dynamite Trail. (Martin’s River)
Join the Lunenburg Recreation Department for a free snowshoe/hike along the Dynamite Trail. Enjoy the easy terrain of the Dynamite Trail, leaving from the Martin’s River Fire Department and heading towards Mahone Bay. Bring your own snowshoes, or book a pair of loaners with the department. Pre-registration is required, open to all ages, those under 12 years must be with an adult.
