Dec 11 – Clickity-Clack Knitting Group (Bridgewater)

Calling all knitters and crocheters, experienced or learning. You are invited to Clickty-Clack Knitting Group this Friday from 10am-12pm at the DesBrisay Museum. Instruction for beginners and socialization for the more experienced knitters. Some supplies are available and lots of patterns for beginners. Join them for a relaxing morning of knitting/crocheting and chatting.

Dec 11 – Holiday Photo Scavenger Hunt (Lunenburg)

Are you up for a holiday challenge? The Town of Lunenburg is challenging you to a Holiday Photo Scavenger Hunt. Take a photo (or selfie) at all the Lunenburg places on the list above and submit them for the chance to win a prize! Don’t forget to spread holiday cheer for all to hear! Submit your photos by Wednesday, December 16, 2020 via E-mail.

Dec 11 – Christmas at the Kitch : Virtual Makers Market

The Kitch’Inn had to cancel their physical makers market, so they moved it online with Christmas at the Kitch: A Virtual Makers Market. There’s no need to be stuck for ideas this Holiday season – Explore gift ideas, tasty bits and decorations from a hand curated group of local Makers and Artisans. It’s an extravaganza of bespoke and unique gifts including jewellery, art, ceramics, clothing, holiday decor, and so much more! There is bound to be something for everyone on Santa’s nice list!

Dec 11 – Painters Night Out (Shelburne)

Do you like to paint? Maybe you just dabble or are wanting to give it a try. If so Ingomar Faith Wesleyan Church invites you to come and join us for a evening of fellowship and fun. Canvas, brushes, and paints will all be provided. You just need bring your creativity. 

Dec 11 – Weather Advisory live at FirkenStein (Bridgewater)

Come rock around the Christmas tree with Weather Advisory this Friday at FirkenStein Brewing. They’ll be playing some of your favourite blues, rock and even some bluesy Christmas tunes. Music starts at 8pm.

Dec 12 – River Hills Craft Market, Membership Drive & Pro-shop Sale (Barrington)

River Hills Golf & Country Club is hosting a Craft Market, Membership Drive and Pro-Shop Sale this Saturday from 9am-3pm. Head over and support local crafters & makers, browse for the perfect gift for the golfer in your life, and get a chance to check the club out, perhaps a membership will be added to your wishlist?

Dec 12 – Beginners Fat Bike Ride (Mahone Bay)

Sweet Ride Cycling has been hosting Beginner Fat Bike Rides Saturday mornings. These weekly sessions will run from 9am to 10:30am departing from the public parking lot on Clairmont Street behind the Pharmasave in Mahone Bay, and will focus on the joy of fat biking from the perspective of a beginner. The pace and content of these sessions is for fat bikes so before the snow falls we will practice some basic skills that will help us handle snow with confidence when it does arrive. Book rentals with the shop before 5pm Friday(s) or join with your own.

Dec 12 – The Privateer Christmas Farmers’ Market (Liverpool)

The Privateer Farmers’ Market association is hosting their Christmas Market this Saturday from 9am-1pm. Come out and visit their 21 vendors, socially distanced of course, at the Liverpool Firehall to pick up everything you need for your holiday eating and giving.

Dec 12 – Lunenburg Holiday Block Party (Lunenburg)

The Lunenburg Board of Trade is hosting a Holiday Block Party this Saturday. Events will be taking place all day long, including a bake sale, craft fair, music at the bandstand and scheduled visits by the big guy himself. Dec 12 – Free Family Skate (Lunenburg)

Risser Design Build are hosting a Free Family Skate along with their friends at The Savvy Sailor, in support of the Lunenburg Foodbank! Head down t the Lunenburg Arena Saturday between 6:30pm-7:30pm. Please see Facebook post for all COVID Protocols.

Dec 12 – Holiday Bake Sale (Lunenburg)

A part of the Lunenburg Holiday Block Party, the Lunenburg Community Consignment Shop is hosting the Fishermans Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Holiday Bake Sale. Head over this Saturday between 1pm-4pm and pick up some tasty treats for the Holidays while supporting the hospital. There will be a 50/50 draw to enter as well.

Dec 12 – Christmas Craft Fair (Lunenburg)

A Christmas Craft Fair in Lunenburg coming up this Saturday! Visit the Lunenburg Community Centre between 2-8pm and shop local this holiday and find quality, unique gifts for your loved ones and for yourselves!!

Dec 12 – Virtual Ugly Sweater Games Night for 2SLGBTQ Folx and Their Allies

South Shore Sexual Health are having a Virtual Ugly Sweater Games Night for 2SLGBTQ folx and their allies! There will be ugly sweaters. They’ll have games and prizes! They had planned to do it in person, but due to the number of cases of Covid, they are going to adapt it to the Zoom format, so you can wear your jammies and let your cat join in! Dec 13 – Hike Nova Scotia Badges (MODL)

Have you walked the Dynamite Trail? It’s one of the hikes you can experience as part of achieving a District of Lunenburg Hike Badge. Hike NS Badges are part of efforts to inspire, motivate and reward hikers – especially new and novice hikers – to get out on Nova Scotia’s beautiful trails to start hiking or to hike more. Each Hike NS badge is tailored to showcase the best of the province while providing helpful and fun challenges in doing so.To qualify for the District of Lunenburg Hike badge, hikers must choose three of five hikes to complete in one year.

Dec 13 – 2020 Virtual Reindeer Dash Fun Run (Barrington)

The Barrington Municipal Recreation Department invites your to join this years Virtual Reindeer Dash. Run your favourite 2km or 5km anytime between December 12 until December 20th. All participants will be given a medal while supplies last. Please post your time, your distance, and where you ran on this page so we know you participated! Or you can submit your results via email.

Dec 13 – Bridgewater Holiday Market (Bridgewater)

Join Bridgewater Farmers’ Market on the five Sundays before Christmas for their modified Holiday Markets. 25+ vendors (some of your regular farmers’ market vendors and other local makers) will be set up inside and outside the Bridgewater Arena to bring you more local choices for your holiday shopping and entertaining

Dec 13 – Barrington sELFie Challenge (Barrington)

Barrington Municipal Recreation Department presents the “sELFie Challenge”. Pick up your “Elf Yourself” kit at the Barrington Recreation office at the Sherose Island Recreation Centre. These kits are available while supplies last so get in fast! You can still play without a kit – just use your own elf costume and hit the road. Dec 13 – Bahama Mama Pop-Up Brunch & Dinner (Mahone Bay)

242 Bahama Mama Delicacies will be hosting another Pop Up event The Biscuit Eater Cafe and Bookstore on December 13. Brunch: 10:00-3:00 and dinner: 4:00-8:00. You can pre-order and view the menu online. Take out or delivery (for a fee) is available..
