Aug 21 – Virtual Recipe Exchange with Wile’s Carding Museum (Bridgewater)
Join Wile Carding Mill Museum for the last day of their Virtual Recipe Exchange. You are invited to share your favourite family recipe, a picture if you have one, and the story of that recipe to their Facebook page or email your recipe to them and they will post them for you. Aug 21 – Travelling Through Time Exhibit at the DesBrisay Museum (Bridgewater)
The DesBrisay Museum has a brand new exhibit, Travelling Through Time: The History of the Railway. This exhibit runs until August 27th. The summer staff have worked hard to put this incredible exhibit together, and they can’t wait to share it with you. The Museum is open Mon-Fri 9am-4pm.
Aug 21 – Mike Biggar live at St. Mark’s Place (Middle LaHave)
St. Marks Place is pleased to welcome Mike Biggar this Friday from 7:30-9:30pm, a part of their Summer Cabaret Series. By any measure, New Brunswick contemporary roots and blues artist Mike Biggar is a natural live performer. With a musical history that stretches back to a gospel music childhood, Biggar is the picture of a lifetime spent in performance. Seating limit to 34, face masks are mandatory and no beverages are allowed. Tickets are $20, Email to reserve your seat.

Boxing Rock Brewery invites you to Finest Fridays. Enjoy live music on the patio, Fridays from 6-7:30pm. Keep on eye on their facebook page to see who will be taking the stage!
Aug 21 – Kristen Martell live at the Nosy Crow (Mahone Bay)
Kick off the weekend at the Nosy Crow for some bites and brews with Mahone Bay songstress Kristen Martell. Kristen will be sharing stories and songs, including songs from her recent album ‘Coming Home’. Music starts at 7pm.
Aug 21 – Atay & Jax live at King Street Beer Co. (Bridgewater)
King Street Beer Co. welcomes Atay & Jax for their “Stay in your seats & drink beer” show. The guys take the stage from 8-10pm, this is a 19+ show. Tickets are $20 and available here. Masks are required upon entry.

Join Yoga with Lisa Saturdays for All Levels Hatha Flow Yoga classes. This is an outdoor class overlooking the LaHave River with plenty of space and shade.The class is designed for someone new to yoga or someone with yoga experience. Check out the Black Rock Buoys playing this weekend at the Bridgewater Farmers Market from 10am-1pm. The Black Rock Buoys is an Annapolis Valley Ukulele based cover band that performs Classic Rock, Folk, Celtic and Blues songs. What a great way t start the day.
Aug 22 – Dancin in the Park : Nia, Chakra Dancing & Sound Healing (Chester)
Andrea Mounce-Halasz invites you to Dancin in the Park, this Saturday at 11am at Lordly Park Playground in Chester. Chakra dancing is a form a meditative movement that utilizes music and free form movement. Session will include a Nia warm up by the amazing Sherry MacKenzie-Jennison. $10.00 drop in fee. Donation will be made to the park. Members of Activate Health-The Membership Group: no charge.
Aug 22 – NLS Lumberjack Meet (Barrington)
The 2020 Lumberjack Meet & Junior competition is happening this weekend at Wild Axe Park, Barrington, with events happening both Saturday and Sunday. Cost to participate: $5 for kids, $10 for adults. This is not an official competition… just an opportunity for lumberjack sports enthusiasts to meet up, swap stories (from an appropriate physical distance) and dust off the gear in 2020. Aug 22 – Giant Studio Yard Sale (Lunenburg)
Calling all crafters, quilters and makers. Local artists Valerie Hearder, Laurie Swim and Letisha McFall are have a Giant Studio Yard Sale this Saturday. Head to 155 Broad St., Lunenburg between 9:30am-2:30pm and browse through various art supplies including; Lots of quality fabrics including batiks, sewing machines, felt and felting tools, grab bags of scraps, landscape fabrics, sheers, and much more! LaHave River Books invites you to join them as Joan Dawson signs copies of her latest book: “Nova Scotia’s Historic Harbours”. The cities, towns, and villages along Nova Scotia’s coastlines have witnessed battles, shipwrecks, celebrations, and tragedies. This is a wonderful collection of these stories, Ms. Dawson will be there this Saturday from 1-3pm.

Saturdays in the Park continues this weekend with a performance by Norma MacDonald. Saturdays in the Park presented by the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society and take place Saturdays through the summer, 2-3pm at the Bandstand in Lunenburg.

This weekends Lawn Chair Festival welcomes the Ragged Island Roosters. The Ragged Island Roosters bring their barnyard blues and fertile farm funk to the Osprey for the release of their LIVE CD “Lost and Alive in Little Harbour”. Music starts at 2pm. Bring your lawn chair! Due to COVID 19 use of the Hall chairs is not possible so the only seating will be what you bring. All social distancing and safety measures will be adhered to.

Aug 23 – All Levels Vinyasa Yoga (Bridgewater)
Yoga with Katherine presents an All Levels Vinyasa Yoga Class held in an outdoor setting. Moving with our breath, we will build heat in the body with sun salutations and explore classic hatha yoga postures building on throughout the summer. You must register and pay for class ahead of time to hold your spot. Classes are $10 each or you can purchase a 5 class pass for $45! Payments for classes must be sent through EMT. Aug 23 – Book signing with Carole Langille: “Doing Time” (Lunenburg)
Please join LaHave River Books as they welcome Carole Langille to sign copies of her latest book: “Doing Time: Writing Workshops in Prison”.
Doing Time makes us rethink the myths we have about inmates and gives us insights into the force of trauma and the power of dignity. We get a glimpse of what goes on in a prison system and we learn, as Langille learned, from the men and women she worked with. Ms. Langille will be in store from 1-3pm this Sunday.
