I so enjoy bringing you stories, helping you with meal plans and highlighting all we have to offer here on the South Shore. The support of these Simple Local Life sponsors over the past month, allows me to dedicate the time required to continue with this work and the blog. I would encourage you to check out their pages and offerings and consider showing them your support as well! Welcome June.
Wile’s Lake Farm Market will host their 25th Canada Day breakfast on July 1. They started with the idea of a community event to celebrate the 125 birthday, at that time, there were no community breakfasts on weekends, let along on Canada Day. Their beginnings were humble with an electric frying pay and a few picnic tables. This event has grown into a real community celebration. They serve around 400 people a complimentary breakfast of pancakes, muffins and coffee.
They have always accepted donations for the event and estimate that almost $10,000.00 has been given to local charities.
This year Wile’s Lake Farm Market is partnering with the Wileville Fire Department to celebrate Canada’s 150 birthday. The volunteer firefighters will be flipping the pancakes and serving up the muffins. They will contribute the food and all the donations go to the fire department.
We are also partnering with the Servants Heart Ministry. They will be serving the coffee which comes the Dominican Republic where they have mission projects. They want to increase awareness of their development work.
Wile’s Lake Farm Market feels this now is a true community project which allow them to support great initiatives and volunteer services here in Lunenburg County.
