What do you do when music has always been your big passion, but then life just sort of got in the way? You wake up one day, decide you can’t ignore it any longer, and just go for it. That’s exactly what happened to Kristen Martell of Mahone Bay during her journey as a singer, songwriter.
Kristen spent her early adult years on the local singer/songwriter circuit. Then with a full time career as an environmental scientist and two kids, her music faded into the background of her life. For 10 years she dedicated herself to her responsibilities, but always felt something was missing. Her deep urge to share her music finally reemerged in 2018 in a huge burst of creativity and inspiration.
Kristen is inspired by nature and and a journey for inner peace. Her thought provoking lyrics are an inspirational lift, that remind the listener to slow down and enjoy the moment. The power of music.
Kristen recently got back from attending Nova Scotia Music Week, where she got to network, attend sessions and be inspired by other musicians. A tremendous learning opportunity as she works towards getting back in the music scene.

Kristen’s been working with a band and spending days in the studio recording, for her upcoming album. We Learn is the first song released, a new single coming in early 2020, and then her debut album will be forthcoming.
