Head to the Rink – Skating at the LCLC and Emera Centre
Pack up your partner, your kids, heck even your parents and lace on a pair of skates at the LCLC in Bridgewater or Emera Centre in Liverpool. What a great way to spend an afternoon or evening.

Search for Ruby’s Travelling Rocks along the trail in New Ross
We discovered Ruby’s Travelling Rocks Trail in New Ross this summer, and think that it would be a great day out for the family over the holidays. Take in the fresh air, search for Ruby’s painted rocks and maybe a stop at the Peasant’s Pantry for some lunch or take home dinner.

Visit Cosby’s Garden Centre and discover Ivan’s Concrete Creations
It would be easy to spend a whole the day wandering the paths behind Cosby’s Garden Centre and discover all of Ivan’s incredible Concrete Creations. From the tortoise parade to the acrobats and dragons, there is something magical around every corner. Stop into Liverpool and Five Girls Baking for something sweet afterwards. Truly one of the top 10 south shore experiences you can enjoy with your family.
Try out Fat Biking with Sweet Ride Cycle
Sweet Ride Cycling hosts Beginner Fat Bike Rides Saturday mornings. These weekly sessions will run from 9am to 10:30am departing from the public parking lot behind Kinburn Pharmasave in Mahone Bay, and focus on the joy of fat biking from the perspective of a beginner. Follow their Facebook Page for updates on weather cancellations. You can Book bike rentals with the shop before 5pm Friday(s) or join with your own.
Go for a stroll through Bridgewater’s “Magical Gnome Trail” in Glen Allan Park or along “Jordan River Holiday Trail” in Shelburne
The team of MLA Mark Furey and Shelburne Recreation Department have been busy decorating trails in Bridgewater and Shelburne. Head to Glen Allan Park and see how many gnomes you can find on the Magical Gnome Walk. In the Shelburne area, the Jordan River Holiday Trail has been decorated for the holidays, including lights, so a visit in the evening can be in your plans (bring a flashlight for extra safety)
Check out the Mahone Bay Sewer Bowl
The Mahone Bay Sewer Bowl is back this year, taking place on January 1st. Watch The Flushers vs. The Plungers play a fun, fundraising game of soccer on the Mahone Bay Centre Field (MBC). Cheerleaders, a Bagpiper, the Lobster Pot Band and even a Miniature Horse will be on the sidelines to entertain! All funds raised will be donated to the MBC in support of their Youth Sport Programs and the purchase of new and needed equipment. All Provincial guidelines relating to Covid-19 will be strictly enforced. Masks, temperature checks, and social distancing will be in place.
Drive Around and Look At Christmas Lights
People seem to have gone all out this year with regard to their lights and outdoor displays. Grab some cozy blankets and travel mugs filled with hot chocolate, put on some Kenny and Dolly and take a drive to check out this years Christmas lights!
Head to Lunenburg and check out the winners in the Light up Lunenburg contest put on by the Lunenburg Board of Trade.
