Sunday mornings I usually grab a cup of coffee and take time to catch up on stories I might have missed throughout the week. I thought you might enjoy them with your Sunday Morning Coffee as well.
Why Cookbook Clubs Should Be the New Way We Entertain- Serious Eats
Oh. My. Gosh. I LOVE this idea! A book club format but where everyone brings a dish they have made from the same cookbook! Genius! What a great way to try a bunch of recipes you probably would never get to making. My mind if ticking….;)
The idea behind Cookbook Club is a simple one—a group of friends all make recipes from the same book and gather to share the results, a crowdsourced feast. But there’s a bit of magic to Cookbook Club that I didn’t anticipate when I attended my first meeting, walking into an unfamiliar house clutching a bowl of pumpkin seed dip from Diana Kennedy’s The Essential Cuisines of Mexico.
Bridgewater paramedics awarded for exemplary service- Lighthouse Now
If you’re lucky you don’t have to think about or consider who is going to be there to help you during an accident or medical emergency. For others it may have been part of a life-saving event, during the birth of their child…and countless things in between.
How wonderful for us here on the South Shore to have two of our own Paramedics recognized recently with the Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Services Medal! The medal recognizes the professionalism, commitment and dedication of Nova Scotia’s outstanding paramedics. Congrats to Jonathan Pippy and Robin Rowswell!
Their peers or the public can nominate paramedics. Recipients must have demonstrated exemplary service in their careers for at least 20 years, including 10 years in an emergency medical services position that involves potential risk.”It’s quite a process,” to be chosen, according to Lawrence Briand, chair of the Nova Scotia Awards Committee and an operations supervisor for Emergency Health Services. He noted that nominees are vetted by the provincial and national awards committee, as well as the Chancellery of Honours.

Loved this week’s stories!! Been meaning to try the cookbook club with a cooking through the decades cookbook
I love that cookbook club idea too! I once was a member of a book club where we made dishes that reflected the theme of each book and it was half the fun of the club to enjoy the food that we all created to go with the book.
