Sunday mornings I usually take time to catch up on stories I may not have time to read through the week. I thought I would share some that caught my eye this week, that you might enjoy with your Sunday Morning Coffee as well.
It’s October…one of my favourites. No one sums the feeling up better than Anne…let’s make it a good one. 🙂
Local bloggers wreak havoc at IKEA… #IKEAHalifax – Curtains are Open
There was lots of excitement this week over IKEA opening in Dartmouth Crossing. I read a few media reports, but nothing captured it as hilariously as Curtains are Open who was part of the media tour a few days before the grand opening. I know many of the bloggers she talks about…this was just such fun! Great job Colleen. 🙂
It was a lovely evening that found a number of ECM bloggers at the Media Preview of the Brand New IKEA store in Dartmouth Crossing. We were there to have a look at IKEA’s largest sustainable store to date, be wined and dined in the infamous “Maritime Kitchen Party” tradition, listen to a little music, and mix and mingle with some folks from Head Office as well as invited guests.

LighthouseNow: “A library of bags” coming to Lunenburg
Another community producing Boomerang Bags…I love it! I always use my reusable bags when I go to the grocery store, but there is the odd time that I am in a shop and don’t have one with me…this is perfect! Great job. 🙂

A group from the Lunenburg area is putting a twist on the idea of reduce, reuse, recycle. Teresa Quilty and Katherine Barrett, both from Garden Lots, are working to bring a concept called Boomerang Bags to the South Shore. Boomerang Bags are made out of recycled material and are meant to reduce peoples’ reliance on plastic.
