Sunday mornings I usually take some time to read stories I may not have time for through the week. I plan to share some of my favourite stories here so that you might catch up on them as you enjoy a Sunday Morning Coffee!
DEMONT: Nova Scotia young bloods brew up change | The Chronicle Herald
This a great read, featuring the 2-year-old Boxing Rock Beer Company located out of Shelburne. They employ mostly younger people who were not planning to stay in Shelburne, but can now see that possibility. Young people using words like “fresh and exciting” when it comes to employment and their future in this small town, can only be inspiring, to the people of Shelburne and all of us in Nova Scotia.
Ray Ivany’s Now or Never report said that if things keep going as they are, the population of young people in this province will drop precipitously in the years ahead. That’s a disaster for a whole bunch of reasons: not enough people to buy stuff; too few skilled hands to make the kind of things that help an economy grow and prosper; a shortage of young, smart, hungry entrepreneurs like MacDonald. Everybody is looking for a way to keep those fresh faces here. I can think of one good idea. In fact, I’m holding it in a glass in my hand.

10 Meaningful Lessons from The Story of the Mexican Fisherman – Be More with Less
I’ve read the story of the Mexican Fisherman before, and it is powerful. As someone who really does value “simple” and have long claimed that it doesn’t take a lot to make me happy, this really brings it home. Some good food and drink, your family, friends and community…what a full life indeed.
An American investment banker was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellowfin tuna. The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them. The Mexican replied, “only a little while. The American then asked why didn’t he stay out longer and catch more fish? The Mexican said he had enough to support his family’s immediate needs. The American then asked, “but what do you do with the rest of your time?”

Can’t you just see yourself now, sitting out on that porch sipping on a refreshing beverage, looking out at the ocean, on a beautiful summer day. Waterfront, ocean views, deep water for boating, 6 bedroom home in charming Voglers Cove all for only $139 000. Wow. This is listed with Exit Realty Inter-Lake.
Located in the picturesque village of Voglers Cove this amazing property has 4.12 acres according to Nova Scotia Property Online, but feels much larger when you walk it. The extensive water frontage offers views of Great and Bark Islands, and the remnants of an old wharf and the deep water offers a unique opportunity for boating enthusiasts. The century old house does appear to have good bones, but could use some TLC. Possibilities are endless; renovate, build new, or maybe sub-divide. There is also additional acreage across the road that could be purchased if looking for more land. Ex# 94479 Property:
