Sunday mornings I usually take some time to read stories I may not have time for through the week. I plan to share some of my favourite stories here so that you might catch up on them as you enjoy a Sunday Morning Coffee!
Stewiacke cheers as schooner hand-built by Densmore cousins launches – Nova Scotia – CBC News
There’s so much I love about this story. Two cousins, in their twenties, spent five years building a 24-metre wooden schooner. Who says young people don’t have good work ethic! Their great-great grandfather was a boat builder and their grandfather helped with the design. The cousins future plans include sailing tourists around the East Coast. As one of their sisters says, “This is history here in Stewiake, history here in Nova Scotia.” They must be so proud. Nova Scotia is pretty proud. Good work boys!
Five years of commitment was tested today when two cousins from Stewiacke launched their 24-metre wooden schooner.

Pete Luckett reflects on Pete’s Frootique after Sobeys sale – Nova Scotia – CBC News
You can’t help but like this story. What I really like is that he is still focusing his time and energy into his winery. I haven’t made it there yet, but it’s definitely on my list of must-see places. I was happy to read as well that Sobeys will be keeping all of the staff and keeping Mr.Luckett on as a consultant for 10 years. Sounds like it was a deal too good to turn down. Nova Scotia’s luck that he chose to finally put his roots down here. “Toodle-doo”!
Luckett, 62, started selling produce as a teenager at Victoria Market in Nottingham, England. Fighting for customers with all the other produce stalls, he soon realized he needed to stand out if he wanted to stay in business.

Christmas Pledge 2015. (And my very first short story) | The Art of Doing Stuff
I’ve read many stories on preparing and enjoying the holiday season, and they all hinge on one word…November! Read Karen from the Art of Doing Stuff short story, and take the pledge! It’s only November 8th…it’s not too late!
If anyone was looking for Julie last Saturday evening, she could be found quietly sitting on the floor in the centre of a 50% off clothing rack at The Gap. Sheโd been there, in the dark, surrounded by a carousel of sombre toned housecoats for close to an hour and now and she felt one of her sneezes coming on. A sneeze that she was pretty sure would alarm the ring of holiday shoppers flipping through the fleece wall of her new home.
