Sunday morning I usually grab a coffee and take time to catch-up on some stories I may not have had time to read throughout the week. I thought you might enjoy them with your Sunday morning coffee as well.

LaHave museum in need of repairs to protect Acadian, Mi’kmaw history
Volunteers that operate one of Nova Scotia’s most historical sites are worried about its future. They run LaHave’s Fort Point Museum on a shoestring budget, and as Colleen Jones reports, they want the governments to help keep this chapter of Acadian and Mi’kmaw history alive.

You Could Live Here
15 Regent Street, Chester
Imagine summers in Chester, Nova Scotia? On a lovely evening you pack a basket and grab a blanket for live music at Picnic in the Park, then walk home, enjoying a quick sunset dip in the Lido pool. Saturday you have coffee and watch the sunrise on your balcony, then join friends for lunch at the Rope Loft before watching some sailing races. Doesn’t it sound dreamy?
There is glass everywhere and the sun is streaming in! Presenting a superbly designed main floor layout with a vaulted ceiling and two sets of doors out to a private patio garden deck. The living room has a redecorated stone hearth reface for the high efficiency wood burning insert fireplace, accentuating the focal point. The dining room opens up with a split level look out over the living space. This completely transformed and upgraded property features a sparkling new custom kitchen, featuring quartz counters and cabinetry. A secret laundry and guest bathroom tucked away under the stairs completes the ground floor.
Everything has been completely repainted and new lights, door hardware and blinds added throughout. A brand-new roof, water filtration and tank system is also in place, so the heavy lifting is done. Front landscaping work is complete, including steps and rock in place, as well as a new garden shed. Area rugs, wardrobes, and all closets are included in the sale. The second level is a complete set of three bedrooms and a full bathroom. Third level luxury is evident with a massive loft space and equally impressive balcony with glimpses of the ocean. A well-constructed and relatively new build structure at age sixteen, this home will be relatively maintenance free.
The property is dead centre in the village and one block from the front harbour basin, so the location is truly a village walking delight.
