A prescription for nature
Supported by their provincial health authorities, physicians and other health professionals have expanded their toolkits to include prescriptions for patients to spend time outdoors. This is a really incredible example of being proactive with regards to our health and recognizing the benefits of spending time in nature.
Shannon Johnson, PhD, is on a mission to inspire people to get outside. She’s a Halifax-based clinical psychologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Dalhousie, and her research is dedicated to understanding the mental and cognitive benefits for people who spend time in and connect with nature.
