Sunday morning I usually grab a coffee and take time to catch-up on some stories I may not have had time to read throughout the week. I thought you might enjoy them with your Sunday morning coffee as well.
Historic N.S. property being transferred to Mi’kmaq in spirit of reconciliation
An incredible story of how Jim and Margaret Drescher have transferred ownership of Windhorse Farms to the Ulnooweg Education Centre, a branch of the Ulnooweg Development Group, which funds and fosters Indigenous businesses across Atlantic Canada.
The Dreschers had reconciliation with Indigenous people in mind when they first connected with Ulnooweg more than three years ago to start talking about handing over control of Windhorse.
What an amazing partnership and opportunity that brought this land back to the Mi’kmaq.

7151 331 HIGHWAY, BROAD COVE
If you’ve ever dreamed of waking up each day to the sounds of the ocean…then you might want to check this place out!
Located in beautiful Broad Cove, you are close to many of our beautiful beaches and close to Petite with its general store, Osprey Nest Pub, art galleries and more. A perfect spot to make memories with your family.
With 5 bedrooms & 1 full bath on the main floor, and 2 half baths on the 2nd, there is ample space for the whole family, including overnight guests. The 2nd half bath, with just its soaker tub & shower, offers the most dreamy views while reflecting on the day’s adventures. Should you wish to share the beauty of this location with others, it would make an exceptional Air BNB. Unique character throughout, from the wood floors and trim to moldings and doors, the details inside are equally as impressive as the landscape. Sip lemonade under the awning on the sprawling deck, during the summer, or catch a glimpse of a surfer, during a storm from the warmth of the sunroom. If you are dreaming of the full rural lifestyle experience along the East Coast, this is the place to make it happen.
This property is listed with Mark Seamone of Exit Realty Interlake.
Thank you for spending part of your Sunday with us. Enjoy the day.
