Sunday morning I usually grab a coffee and take time to catch-up on some stories I may not have had time to read throughout the week. I thought you might enjoy them with your Sunday morning coffee as well.
Students broadcast school news from new studio
Love the new Wolves News and Entertainment Studio at West Northfield Elementary School and the potential this brings to the students. They have been live streaming the morning announcements to the rest of the students and they also have plans to broadcast events, concerts etc.
“Our whole school is very excited about the opportunities this studio will bring the Grade 6 students and to the whole school. They achieved their first goal and shared the morning announcements every morning this week live from their studio,” the school reported on social media February 5.
The school’s Grade 6 teacher, Peter Millet, enthused on Twitter: “Our first week of beaming morning announcement broadcasts from the Wolves News and Entertainment Studios has been a huge success. Thank you Uplift grant for supporting our awesome school project.”

Crew of Atlantic Destiny fishing vessel airlifted to Yarmouth Airport after emergency at sea
One of the biggest stories from this past week, was the dramatic rescue of all of the crew members of the Atlantic Destiny fishing vessel. During high winds and frigid temperatures, the news of a fire on board the boat, sent shock and concern too many on the South Shore with friends and family on board.
The news of their rescue was an immense relief, especially considering the vessel was ultimately lost. Remarkable work done by the US and Canadian Coast Guards, the Royal Canadian Air Force and everyone who stood by to assist.
Some incredible photos in this piece by Tina Comeau of the TriCounty Vanguard.
