As the housing crunch hits rural N.S., Bridgewater tries to get ahead
Housing…and in particular…affordable housing…has become a major issue in the province. Bridgewater will soon have a resource to help.
Once the finishing touches of the building’s renovation are complete, the storefront on King Street will reopen as a hub for affordable housing. Anyone who is without a permanent home, or struggling to keep their home, can walk through the doors and ask for help.
For some, the answer won’t be far away; the upper levels of the building are being converted into apartments that will soon be ready for about one dozen tenants.

Home First Care Coordinator – Continuing Care- Bridgewater
Full-time position available in Bridgewater with the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
Responsibilities
The Care Coordinator reports the Manager, Continuing Care, and is responsible for the intake, assessment, service planning and implementation, on-going case management, evaluation and appropriate discharge planning of clients within the Continuing Care Program. Working in the community, hospital and long-term care settings, the Care Coordinator partners with other healthcare professionals and designated service providers in acute care and long-term care facilities, government departments and other community agencies and resources.
