Chester woman writes 180 thank you notes to front-line workers

What a lovely story and gesture. Repurposing cards from her 90th birthday and sympathy cards from when her husband passed, Jane Wilkins, 92, wrote 180 thank you notes to the staff at Shoreham Village. Just lovely and I’m sure much appreciated.

Environmental Services Worker- Nova Scotia Health Authority, Liverpool

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Environmental Services, the Environmental Services Worker is responsible for ensuring a clean and safe environment and, occasionally, the availability of clean laundry and linen for clients and staff.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/GED required.
• Experience in environmental services, e.g., industrial cleaning services.
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere as well as individually, with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other staff, clients and management.
• Willingness to learn, accept direction and work effectively in a team environment following established policies and procedures.
• Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment, initiative and problem solving skills.
• Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness and organizational health.
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
