Sunday mornings I usually take some time to read stories I may not have time for through the week. I plan to share some of my favourite links here so that you might catch up on them as well with your Sunday morning coffee
Kids need breaks from year-round sports grind, says Soccer Nova Scotia director – Local Xpress
I know so many kids and families that struggle with this issue. I have seen huge changes just in the past 14 years or so since my children started playing sports. Year round sports is so common now as well as an expectation on kids to be working on their sport all year. It’s too much. This is a good read.
Brad Lawlor has a message to parents who want their kids to specialize in a sport too early: Don’t.The executive director of Soccer Nova Scotia, in conjunction with Hockey Nova Scotia, is launching a campaign next week to remind all involved that year-round dedication to a single sport, for kids as young as eight, is unhealthy. It is more than a professional matter for Lawlor. A father of three boys, he’s seen first-hand how hard it can be a for a young athlete to explain to a coach that he, or she, will be absent to play another sport.

You Could Live Here!
509 Charles Hill Road, Farmington Nova Scotia
Oh my…this really caught my eye! All those windows, the gardens, the natural light, the beams….! It really is a stunning home. Located at the end of the road, what a quiet peaceful existence this could provide. This home is listed with Angie Brown of Exit Inter-Lake Realty.
An Artists paradise! This home provides lots of natural light for the painter or writer in you. Quiet and close to nature and is snuggled into a dead end road so very little traffic noise for the artist. The unique post and beam construction provides a large opening to the upstairs and has been home to a very tall Christmas tree each year. You could easily have solar panels to help heat this home year round as the atrium faces south and already has a multitude of windows. The three acre property is fenced, has lovely flower gardens and an ample vegetable garden as well as 3 different species of fruit trees. If you are looking to get away from it all and get back to nature, this is the place! Ex# 73860
