Sunday morning I usually grab a coffee and take time to catch-up on some stories I may not have had time to read throughout the week. I thought you might enjoy them with your Sunday morning coffee as well.
New Germany celebrates medical centre built entirely by community
What an incredible accomplishment and opportunity to celebrate! Twenty five years ago, before community health clinics were part of our health care system, New Germany had a group formed that was committed to the idea of a building a clinic and bringing in doctors for their community.
Bravo to everyone who supported the cause, back when I’m sure there was some criticism, and the doctors and nurse practitioners who work there. Accessible health care is an absolute positive for a rural area. Bravo!
A new beginning
Families forge new relationships and connections after Humboldt bus tragedy
OK…this story made me tear up. I have so often thought about the billet families from the Humboldt Broncos team and how they are doing. We have billeted hockey players in the past I can’t imagine the grief and responsibility one would feel.
This family in particular who had 3 players from the team, 2 of who passed away, are now welcoming new Humboldt Broncos to their home. There are things we can all do locally to support youth and athletes in our community. Let’s be sure to never forget the Humboldt Broncos, their families and community. #humboldtstrong
