We’re continuing along with our South Shore Farmers Markets series, after profiling Lunenburg and Bridgewater, we are venturing down to Queens County and the lovely Privateer Farmers Market in Liverpool. The day I stopped in to take some photos and have a visit, was actually during Privateer Days, so things were bustling and made for a perfect day to visit.
The Privateer Farmers Market runs every Saturday from May to October and also has two holiday markets in December. It is located at Privateer Park on Henry Hensey Drive in Liverpool. They feature locally grown produce, meat, poultry, baked goods, local wine and spirits, arts & crafts and several food offerings. There is definitely something for everyone at the Privateer Farmers Market!
Look at this beautiful produce!
This gentleman was making his spoons right there behind his table. Very cool and fascinating to see how they are made.
Several food vendors at the Privateers Farmers Market so you can grab lunch and sit at one of their picnic tables, or maybe take it with you and head to Pine Grove Park.
I just love this market! The set up right on the waterfront is perfect. There are swing sets for children to play on and it’s surrounded by grassy areas to throw a blanket down and have a picnic or sit by the water on one of the benches and enjoy the view. Did I mention the live music? What a perfect way to spend a Saturday morning. 🙂
If you stop down during Privateer Days, besides the delicious food, baked goods and crafts…you may also see a pirate or two. 😉
The Privateer Farmers Market runs from 9:00am-1:00pm each Saturday. Have you been to the Privateer Farmers Market? What do you like to pick up there each week? Leave a comment and let us know!
