There are so many beautiful farmers markets on the South Shore, but it wouldn’t be summer without a trip to the Hubbards Farmers Market. Currently in its 21st year of operation, it is located at the beautiful Hubbards Barn & Community Park in the middle of 6 acres of woodlands and fields. Grab a coffee, have lunch with friends, let your kids play in the big sandbox, so much to enjoy while there…it should definitely be on your summer/fall to-do list!
The Hubbards Farmers Market is made up of several areas, but the main building…The Barn…is where you will find live music, smells of delicious food and coffee wafting through the air, and people greeting friends and neighbours as they fill up their market bags and baskets.
Outside the Barn, there are more vendors set up, picnic tables and benches, little paths and walkways and a beautiful covered patio area. A perfect spot to eat your breakfast or lunch or visit with friends. You could seriously spend the whole morning here. 🙂
If you go to the market in late summer, you can find it overflowing with fresh produce. Colourful fruits and vegetables grown right here and waiting for you to take it home. Isn’t it beautiful?
If you need a gift for someone or are looking to add some natural sustainable items to your home, farmers markets are the perfect place to look.
The Hubbards Farmers Market has so many talented artisans and makers there each week. From soaps and sea salt to recycled fishing rope mats, fiber arts and beautiful landscape and wedding rings, the talent and craftsmanship is stunning.
A visit to the Hubbards Farmers Market is a perfect way to spend your Saturday morning and a lovely place to bring visitors. The Market is open from 8am-12pm on Saturdays, starting Mothers’ Day weekend in May to the end of October.
