Meal Planning Made Easy with Sam’s No Frills

Can you feel it? That little change in the air? The reaching for the sweater in the evening. The SCHOOL SUPPLIES on the shelves!  September is just around the corner and with it, the return to homework, games and practices. For a lot of us, it marks a return to a busy, scheduled life. For me, it also means  getting organized in the kitchen. I’m feeling good though thanks to Meal Planning Made East with Sam’s No Frills. 🙂

I’ll admit, I’m still on summer mode, so I am looking for some quick meals that don’t require me spending a lot of time in the cooking. However hockey try-out season has started for us, so I also still need something a little heartier planned as well. This is when I start meal planning, by looking at my calendar and figuring out when I want those bigger meals and when we are good with something lighter that we could even pack up for a road trip. This meal planning post gives you all kinds of tips to help you get started.

Here’s what we’re having this week:

Chicken and Grape Salad

BLT’s and Baby Carrots

St.Hubert Chicken Pot Pie and Salad

Chicken Parmesan

Barbecued Pork Loin Chops, Baked Potatoes and Corn on the Cob

Here’s what I bought:

Classico Tomato Sauce- $2.47
President’s Choice Parmesan Cheese-$5.97

Some pasta, baked potatoes and meat for the hockey player and some salads and lighter meals for those last summer days when I don’t want to be in the kitchen too long, sounds just about right for the end of August. Being able to stop into Sam’s No Frills and grab everything I need without endless wandering down aisles is so appealing. It’s also hard to find lower prices, and if you do, you can show them and they will price match for you! Sweet! 🙂

Do you meal plan? Are you back at it getting ready for September? Let me know in the comments, if you spend any time planning before you head to the grocery store. Enjoy the last week of August and make the most of these glorious summer days!  🙂

I know I should meal plan…does that count? 😉 With both of our boys off to school this fall, I will have to make a plan in order not to waste food feeding just the two of us. Thanks for giving me some ideas!
