I love Thanksgiving. It’s one of my favorite holidays with the focus being on family and food. On top of that, the weather and beautiful fall foliage, has me swooning. We always head back to my in-laws on Sunday for a big family feast, but I also host a family dinner here on Monday which I really look forward to. Cooking a turkey and having some left-overs, means meal planning will be made easy.
I love cooking a turkey, not only for the great smell in the house while it’s cooking, but for the great variety of meals we can make from it. For Thanksgiving, I usually make some spiced cranberry sauce or homemade applesauce , but the turkey is the centerpiece of the day. So imagine my excitement yesterday when I was working on my meal plan, Sam’s No Frill’s posted on their Facebook page that they had frozen turkeys on for $0.97/lb! Start the car! 😉
Here’s what we’re having this week:

You can watch a quick Facebook Live video I did chatting about what I bought and my plans for it…
There are a few items I had at home, like onions and rice, but this is such an economical way to plan your meals. Sam’s No Frill’s also has some great prices this week on those extras that you can use in several meals like celery, carrots and sweet potatoes! The celery and carrots will be part of 3 meals this week and also guarantee that I am using up what I have bought and not wasting anything. I love it!
Are you making a big dinner this Thanksgiving? Bought your turkey yet? We have so much to be thankful for here in our beautiful country and I plan to spend a few minutes reflecting on that…in between basting…;) I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a more relaxing week, now that you have your meals planned. Meal planning made easy…thanks Sam’s No Frills! 🙂
