In the middle of a crazy week, I decided I really needed to do something for me, and finally check out a place I’ve been meaning to get to for months, the Soul Cafe in Bridgewater. I’m so glad I scheduled it in…I actually did, or it may never have happened…because it was a highlight of last week and I can’t wait to go back. 🙂
I’ve heard people mention the Soul Cafe and have seen an occasional photo and that was enough for me to realize I wanted to see it for myself. The day I went I had a meeting at 2:30pm and so I whipped in around 1:30pm for a late lunch. I chatted with an older gentleman who was there and he told me lives close by and walks over to the Soul Cafe every day. I could see the owner EJ, knew him well and took some special care helping him as he left for the day. It was very sweet.
Soul Cafe is located inside the Days Inn on North Street in Bridgewater. EJ and her husband took it over last May and have been operating the cafe ever since. Their menu has a nice coffee selection including lattes, cappuccinos and espresso.
I really wasn’t sure what I wanted for lunch, so EJ asked me a few questions and then made a recommendation. I had Bulgogi Noodles, which is a Korean style stir fried noodle with vegetables and thinly sliced marinated beef. I also had a side of spring rolls. It was simply amazing and delicious!
I really love spring rolls and the spring rolls at Soul Cafe are exquisite! My next trip there will revolve around the spring rolls…even if I am there in the morning…I don’t care… I’ll have them with my coffee. 😉 I’ve been thinking about them for the last 3 days… so good!
They have a breakfast sandwich offering, bagels and lot of lunch variety including a few Korean dishes, wraps, smoked meat sandwiches, wonton soup and more. You can check out their full menu on their website.
They also had some delicious looking desserts and have recently added pastries from Boulangerie La Vendéenne to their menu. Looking for a place to have a morning meeting with coffee and pastries? Here you go…:)
I chatted a bit with Eun Jung…who people call EJ…and is originally from South Korea. Her family is building a new house just down the road from me! What a small world/town. I really enjoyed meeting her and having a few minutes to chat. It was the highlight of an otherwise crazy day.
The Soul Cafe is separate from the restaurant inside The Days Inn. (I think it was a sports bar way back when….) Winter months can be tough for many in the restaurant business…so why not grab a friend, colleague, neighbor…and go out and support these small cafes and restaurants. In a small town like Bridgewater, it’s really nice to have the Soul Cafe as an option.
The Soul Cafe is currently open Monday-Friday from 9:30-4:00pm. A great place to enjoy a fabulous coffee and a unique atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back and have already scheduled in my next visit. 🙂
It looks Beautiful! Looking forward to stopping by for a bite n tea….
Let me know what you think! 🙂
Looks lovely, thank you for sharing, will have to check this out
Definitely! I’ve already been back….;)
Yum! Now I’m craving spring rolls too!
If you’re ever down this way, you’ll have to try them. 🙂
