Mom's Chili

Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 Cup chopped onion
  • ¾ C chopped green pepper
  • 1 - 28oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1- 398ml can of tomato sauce
  • 2 - 14 oz cans of kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried parsley flakes
  • 1 bay leaf
Instructions
  1. In a saucepan fry ground beef, onions and green pepper
  2. Drain off any extra fat
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients
  4. Bring to a boil
  5. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour
  6. Remove bay leaf
  7. Serve with shredded cheese, sour cream, nacho chips, etc
