Simple Local Life is a media company celebrating life on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Recognizing the lack of a local voice talking about all the fantastic things happening where she lived, Jennifer Naugler started Simple Local Life in November of 2015. A blog turned media company they promote local businesses and events through Facebook Live series, content creation, local gift guides and more. Simple Local Life is a trusted resource and influencer in their small, rural market.
Hello, I’m Jennifer…but you can call me Jen. I live on the beautiful South Shore of Nova Scotia. I am married for 25 years to my husband Troy and we have three adult children. More recently, our busy house and family life is getting quieter with kids moving out as seasons change. It’s been an adjustment, but starting Simple Local Life, at this point of my life, has filled up a lot of that extra space. 🙂
In 2021 we added a candle line and in 2022 started doing shows and markets and have several wholesale accounts. You can currently find our candles at Wile’s Lake Farm Market, Gow’s Home Hardware, The Teazer, Bob and the Boys, The Look 4 You, South Shore Natural Foods, Olive and Kay, Beauty and Bloom Salon and Caledonia Pharmasave.
I enjoy cooking (not every day…but most ) and meal planning, which I have even taught courses on. Simple things in life make me happy. Gardening, checking out thrift stores and exploring places along the South Shore are all things that bring me joy. I love sharing businesses or products that I enjoy and chatting about my life here in Nova Scotia.
Simple Local Life has been featured and interviewed in LighthouseNow, The Sheldon Macleod Show and Weekend Gardener with Nikki Jabbour on NewsRadio 95.7 and has written for the Now Lunenburg County magazine. She has partnered with and been sponsored by Presidents Choice, Natrel, Mosher Motors Ford Ltd, Gow’s Home Hardware, Bridgewater Pharmasave, Wile’s Lake Farm Market, South Shore Veterinary Hospital, the Lahave River Credit Union and more.
