One week when I was unloading my groceries from the Atlantic Superstore, I spotted a one page flyer that was tucked inside. It was a notice about a Special Culinary Event…the PC Holiday Insiders Classes. It mentioned trying new items from their PC Insider’s Collection, participating in a “partial” hands on cooking class and enjoying the experience of decor, giveaways as well as a mouth-watering menu. The menu listed sounded amazing…and all of this…in a 2.5 hr class…for $15.00! Sign me up…which I did!
So last night I met a friend of mine at the Atlantic Superstore in Bridgewater, upstairs in the Community Room which had a beautiful table set for the evening. It was simple but stunning. We started with being passed a nice glass of PC Pomegranate Lemon Sparkling Beverage and club soda prettied up with pomegranate seeds and lemon zest. Again…so simple…but looked so attractive and festive. They also had a large Charcuterie Board with an impressive variety of meats and cheeses complimented with crackers, olives grapes and even pickled eggplant!
The staff was attentive and helpful. We were free to ask any and all questions we had throughout the evening. I learned a few little kitchen tips along the way…about sharpening knives…caring for cast iron…and many simple cooking techniques. Chef and cooking school co-ordinator Dave, and the head chef Jason were both very relaxed and informal, which made us all feel like we could easily replicate what they were doing.
The cooking started with a “partial hands on” during the making of the appetizer. I was really there to enjoy the evening, not so much interested in really cooking. A couple of people helped slice up a few items, and I think I helped by passing my plate so Chef Jason could place the Crispy Sesame Rice Cake with Tuna Tataki on it. 😉 My point is that this is really an evening to learn and enjoy, so don’t worry about being too hands on, the Chef looks after everything.
While the chef demonstrated how to de-bone and stuff a turkey breast, we were also shown a few new kitchen items in they carry, as well as some items from the new PC Insiders Collection.
Our main course was delicious and beautifully presented. It was a full meal…and I confess that for the price, I thought we were getting small samples…not so!
Dessert was Avocado Lime and Coconut No Bake Cheesecake, featuring the new PC Frozen Avocado Chunks. I am really intrigued by this product and anxious to try it in a smoothie. The cheesecake was light and refreshing. A perfect end to the meal.
Because it’s the Holidays, they had a nice little Christmas tree with a goodie bag for each of us to take home. Unexpected and pretty exciting for a couple of mom’s on a night out. 😉
The PC Cooking School runs many classes each month. Everything from a Teen Supper Club, and Adult Evening Classes, to a Rare Skills class which features a 3 course meal. They have one date left for this particular PC Holiday Insiders Class, next Monday, December 12th. You register online and they suggest 48 hours ahead. A festive gathering where you don’t have to cook OR clean-up…what could be better! I highly recommend you grab a few friends and make an evening of it. Now..who wants to come over and try some Chocolate Covered Caramel Popcorn with Sea Salt? 🙂

Now I want to see if there’s classes at home!!
You totally should Lori! It is a super deal…and a lot of fun. 🙂
While I love the possibility that a delicious looking appetizer is named after me, I do believe you mean Tuna (I know more than most just how easily this can happen:)
I. love. everything. about. this!
Oh my..thank you for that Tuna…I mean TINA! 😉
