There is nothing like a trip to a local holiday craft fair or town festival to get you in the spirit of the season. Strolling past booths and festive displays with a warm cup of cider in your hand, a wonder of local treats and handmade treasures to feast your eyes upon, all with the promise of the festivities to come. What’s not to love! That’s why we are so excited to be talking about all the 2021 Holiday Markets & Festivals on the South Shore!
Here we are in our second holiday season, while still in a pandemic, but with the vaccine and our case numbers being relatively low, this year feels a bit more “normal” than last when it comes to events and activities. It is so nice to see and hear about local markets and fairs, knowing that we can stroll and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.
Also worth mentioning that this year it is more important than ever to support our local makers, producers and retailers. It has been a tough go for many during Covid and I think the supply chain and other issues brought to light during Covid, made us realize how important supporting local is. Good news…you can find everything you need right here on the South Shore!
Not only will you discover many wonderful gift ideas, the selection of local gourmet goodies to grace your table and wow your bubble family with is truly tantalizing. Make sure to stop into one of the local cafes and restaurants for a delicious meal, or treat to keep you going.
Enjoying town festivals is a tradition for many families. Gathering to share stories and song, lighting Christmas trees, real ones or those made of lobster pots, and greeting the carollers, gingerbread men & gnomes in various towns, all helps to bring in some holiday cheer. Make a point to get out and celebrate and make some new traditions along the way.

Visiting South Shore holiday markets can be the beginning of checking off items on your holiday lists. It can be hard to find something special, and this is where holiday markets shine. With unique, one of a kind items, you are bound to find that one item that will be the perfect gift for everyone on your list.
We are so very lucky in Nova Scotia, and on the South Shore, to be able to see these events happening this year, even if they do look a little different. Visiting these markets and festivals will help you get into the holiday spirit!
Which 2021 Holiday Markets & Festivals on the South Shore are you planning to attend this year?
I am just reading this and am so excited. I am originally from New Germany . I went toschool there and our boys did. We lived in North River and from there moved to Barrie On where we spent 23 years. I was fortunate to work and make special friends . We retired in 2017 and moved to Quebec….my husband’s home town. We are coming home on the 21 and I am looking forward to taking in as many of these markets as I can.
Welcome home Janis! Enjoy the markets and the start of the holiday season. 🙂
Hi Jen ….. thank you so very much for posting this list of markets and craft shows . It’s so difficult to find this information . Novadawn, Nena, and Lynn took off last Saturday had a great day on the south shore . I can say that I wouldn’t want to go with them but I was mad as hell that they didn’t tell me where these shows were happening as Gary ( my new partner ) would have gone down too . Now thanks to you we can plan our trips. Please make sure you have my e-mail for any markets thought out the year . Thank you Jen xxoo
Jessie
Glad to help Jessie! 🙂
