Sunday morning I usually grab a coffee and take time to catch-up on some stories I may not have had time to read throughout the week. I thought you might enjoy them with your Sunday morning coffee as well.
There’s a new nine-year-old skipper in Lockeport with a lot of self-determination and community help
What an amazing summer it sounds like 9-year old Ransom Chetwynd had sailing in the harbour in Lockport, after spending two years saving money for his own boat. Ransom’s future plans include becoming skipper of the Bluenose II…which could be entirely possible.
6-storey buildings to be allowed in parts of Lunenburg to address housing crunch
With Lunenburg continuing to be a desirable place to live, and the with the desire to be able to make sure there continues to be affordable housing for those who want to live there, Lunenburg has developed new land-use and subdivision bylaws that will allow, for the first time, six-storey mid-rise buildings to be constructed in the areas of the town outside its heritage district.
The changes will also eliminate the requirement for a minimum amount of parking as well as streamline the town’s zoning to allow more as-of-right development, which means construction projects could go ahead without additional permissions.
These changes came after three years of community consultation.

3684 HIGHWAY 331 LAHAVE
If you need me, I’ll just be over here dreaming of sipping coffee overlooking the ocean, while planning my massive 2022 summer garden.
If you’ve had a goal of homesteading and selling at a local market, this property could make those dreams come true! It has 32 hemlock raised beds and 6 in-ground beds fully planted, as well as a 24′ x 27′ greenhouse, a 6 x 8 garden barn, a 1 1/2 car garage, an electric fence, and three established in-ground flower beds. Wow!
The back half of the property is cleared of trees and large rocks and is ready for more in-ground or raised beds, a small orchard, berry bushes, or nut trees. This lovely oceanside home has had many upgrades. The kitchen has been completely renovated as has the laundry with its powder room amenities. The living and dining room area has a beautiful view of Dublin Bay. Upstairs has three bedrooms (with closets) and an open loft for guests or an office. The renovated bathroom has a fabulous steam shower. The basement has an outdoor entrance.
Now, if you’ll excuse me….I’m just going to take a drive down to Lahave. 😉
This property is listed with Donna Malone of Exit Realty Interlake.
