Feb 14 – Gift From The Heart Radiothon: Hospital Lift 2020 (Bridgewater & Area)
The Gift From The Heart Radiothon: Hospital Lift 2020, will be held & heard, February 14th, on CKBW and Country 100.7. The goal is to purchase 25 lifts in one day with $150,000. Tune in this Friday and support the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore reach their goal.
Feb 14 – Linedancing with Sandra (Bridgewater)
Back by popular demand, join Sandra Mailman at the DesBrisay Museum for an afternoon of Line Dancing. The fun starts at 2pm, she will bring the music and dance step sheets – you just bring your dancing shoes! Adults $5.00 / kids Free. A fun part of what’s happening on the South Shore.
Feb 14 – Valentine’s Vinyl Night with Alex and Melissa (Shelburne)
Boxing Rock Brewing Company invites you to Valentine’s Vinyl Night. Enjoy an evening of music on vinyl records with Alex and Melissa of HarbourTone Productions. Bring a song for Valentine’s Day on vinyl along with you and they will give it a spin! Please bring an LP or 45. Evening starts at 6:30pm,
Feb 14 – An evening of Music and Cheesecake (Barrington)
A part of the Songs of the Seas Lobster Crawl event, you are invited to an Evening of Music & Cheesecake! Grab your special someone and join in the fun Valentine’s Day , 7-8:30pm pm at the Municipality of Barrington’s Multi purpose room. Join the Lunenburg County Hikers for Choc o Walk, a romantic walk this Friday at 7pm at Miller Point Peace Park. Walk to stations with chocolate treats for you and your Valentine. Feb 14 – “Happily Ever Afters” 2020 : A Valentine’s Cabaret (Mahone Bay)
The South Shore Theatrical Players invites you to Happily Ever Afters, a Valentine’s Cabaret. Tickets are $20 and include entertainment, coffee/tea and dessert. Couples and singles welcome. Feb 14 – Casablanca at Chester Playhouse Theatre (Chester)
Chester Playhouse Theatre is showing a Valentine’s Day Movie “Casablanca” at 7:30 pm on Friday. This Best Picture winner follows tough guy Humphrey Bogart as Rick, an expatriate club owner in Morocco, nursing a broken heart after his sweetheart (Ingrid Bergman) disappeared from his side in Paris when the Nazis invaded. When she re-enters his life with her fugitive, resistance-leader husband (Paul Henreid), sparks fly. Join them for a drink before the film, tickets are $10 and available at the door.

Feb 15 – Seedy Saturday (Bridgewater)
Helping Nature Heal is hosting their 14th Annual Seedy Saturday this Saturday from 10am-4pm. Held at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Bridgewater, this is a free event – entry by a non-perishable donation to the Food Bank. Everyone is welcome – activities for children such as colouring, learning about seeds, etc. Guest speakers and time slots are to be announced!
Feb 15 – SSWS 7th Annual Puppet Show & Tea (Blockhouse)
The South Shore Waldorf School invites you to come enjoy a Waldorf-style Puppet Show and the homemade offerings of our traditional tea. Performed by Wee Giant theatre and the Waldorf Puppeteers accompanied by cellist Becca Dearing, on recorder Tegan McMahon and guitarist Oliver Pickering. Puppet Show times are 1:00pm and 2:30pm. Feb 15 – Black Beauty Expo (Shelburne)
The Black Loyalist Heritage Centre invites you to join them for the 2nd Annual Black Beauty Expo. The expo will host vendors from around the province who specialize in Black hair care, skin care and wellness products. There will also be a series of talks and workshops around the theme of Black Beauty and wellness.Vendors and workshops will cover braids, head wrapping, skin care, hair care and more. Feb 15 – Take the Roof Off Winter at the MARC (Dayspring)
The District of Lunenburg Recreation invites you to come out and enjoy skating, skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, playing in the snow or sliding at the MARC. Warm-up inside with hot chocolate, activity pages and snacks or roasting marshmallows around an afternoon bonfire. Skis and snowshoes available for use free of charge during the program on a first-come, first-serve basis. Feb 15 – Edible Gardening for Beginners (Shelburne)
Join Jennifer Spencer, owner/operator of Yellow Brick Road Farm, for her Edible Gardening for Beginners Workshop. Jennifer will help get you and your family started gardening and making small changes towards a more sustainable lifestyle. Feb 16 – 5th Annual Mahone Bay Fat Bike Festival (Mahone Bay)
Sweet Ride Cycling hosts the 5th Annual Mahone Bay Fat Bike Festival this Sunday celebrating the joy of fat biking. Try a fat bike with a guided demo ride, or if you have your own fat bike – join the guided group rides. The festival also features an obstacle course and by Trail Flow Adventures, hot food and drinks provided by the Bicycle Lunchbox Cafe and beer from our own local Saltbox Brewery! Feb 16 – Winter Surf Lessons at White Point Beach Resort! (Liverpool)
Many have given surfing a try during the summer months, but the folks at White Point Beach Resort think also love Surfing in the winter. – yes, it’s a year-round sport here on the South Shore. What’s Happening on Heritage Day
Feb 17 – Heritage Day at Ross Farm Museum (New Ross)
Spend this coming Heritage Day learning about your local heritage by planning a trip to Ross Farm Museum! This is a great chance to spend the day getting hands on with heritage by coming to visit the farm animals up close, try your hand at spinning wool and drop by the blacksmith shop and check out what he is working on. If conditions are good there will be sleigh rides and coasting on the Larder Barn hill (Bring Your Own Sleds or Snowshoes) If there is no snow we will be offering wagon rides in place of sleigh rides. Enjoy Heritage Day at a local museum!
Feb 17 – Sewing Workshop – Recyclable Shopping Bags (Sable River)
